Bangor Advancing Knowledge in Education Research (BAKER) Lecture Series
On the 10th of June, 2016 we will welcome Professor Ofelia García to give the inaugural talk in the Bangor Advancing Knowledge in Education Research lecture series.
This lecture series has been established in honour of Professor Colin Baker’s life-long contribution to bilingual education and bilingualism. As a well-respected member of staff of the School of Education at Bangor University, Colin established an internationally renowned reputation for his research and contribution to bilingualism, and it is our great pleasure to celebrate his work in this series.
The aim of this series of lectures is to draw expertise from a range of countries, linguistic settings and contexts to share best practice in Education. In the first of these lectures, we are delighted to welcome Professor Ofelia García, a renowned expert in the field of bilingual education, who will reflect on Professor Colin Baker’s influence in relation to her own work.
Before this event, the International Conference on Bilingualism in Education will hold its student research award ceremony. Post-graduate students will present their work in paper and poster presentations to compete for student research awards.
Following the lecture, there will be a conference dinner and you are invited to celebrate the launch of this even with us.
